The online ordering sector is heating up this year with Foodonclick, the Arab arm of Turkish online delivery giant Yemeksepeti, announcing expansion into Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, and Rocket Internet’s HelloFood‘s announcement of US $8 million in investment through iMENA for expansion beyond Saudi, Morocco and Jordan.
Within this regional setting, Jeeran, the popular Amman-based location review platform, just released its first infographic, sharing insights on the search behavior of consumers in Saudi Arabia.
With over a million Saudi users per month on Jeeran, reading reviews, finding local businesses and making spending decisions, the infographic reveals that Saudi consumers, by a wide margin, search “restaurants” more than anything else on Jeeran. Next in line, consumers search for “sweets”, followed by “pizza” and “Burger King”.
