In his latest video, YouTube a capella star Alaa Wardi sings some of the most famous Arabic songs from the early 20th century until now. The six-minute video includes classics — like Sayed Darwish, Umm Kulthum, and Fairuz — as well as present day-singers, like Cheb Khaled, Nancy Ajram, and Saad Lamjarred.
The video, which provides a fascinating look at the way Arabic music has changed over the last century, has been viewed over 1.6 million times since it was first posted last week.
