Trucking in India: Adding colour to Indian transport

Decorated with colourful trinkets, transporting goods of all sizes and often having men sitting precariously atop them, legs dangling out of the vehicle, trucking in India is often misunderstood. Four international photographers covered 27 Indian states in the heavy vehicles to understand them and their drivers, compiled as a coffee table book by Divya Jain.

Divya Jain, whose maiden coffee table book is dedicated to trucks and their drivers, says, “People who drive trucks have a lot of negative publicity around them and they don’t get their due. I wanted to bring out their positive aspects.” Incidentally, Jain hails from a family of truckers — they own a logistics company.
