Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has launched the Dubai Plan 2021, which outlines a new phase of development in the emirate over the next seven years.
Dubai Plan 2021 aims to reinforce Dubai’s positioning as a global centre and destination following the successful bid to host the World Expo 2020, the plan to become the capital of the Islamic economy, and the launch of the Dubai Smart City strategy, news agency WAM reported.
The framework of Dubai Plan 2012 includes six themes that define the emirate – City of Happy, Creative and Empowered People; An Inclusive & Cohesive Society – The Preferred Place to Live, Work & Visit; A Smart and Sustainable City; A Pivotal Hub in the Global Economy; A Pioneering and Excellent Government.
