The final stop of the “Saudi Archaeological Masterpieces through the Ages” exhibition will be staged in San Francisco on Oct. 27, to showcase part of the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage.
The last “Roads of Arabia” show in the United States was opened in May by Prince Sultan bin Salman, president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), along with Kansas City Mayor Sly James at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
An SCTA official said here Thursday: “The commission has finalized its preparations to launch the exhibition for its ninth global stop and the fifth and final stop in the United States on Oct. 27 at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco.”
He said the ancient objects were prepared and placed in the display hall in the museum in collaboration with the Saudi Embassy in the United States.
“The Asian Art Museum in San Francisco is considered the final stop of the global tour … where it enjoyed great success, as shown by the audience turnout,” the official said.
He said Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah supports the event and had instructed the SCTA to take the exhibition to several prominent European and American cities.
