In celebration of the rich traditions of Indian and Islamic art, Sotheby’s has launched an ‘Indian and Islamic Week’, which will feature public exhibitions, auctions and events from October 3-8, 2014.
These initiatives will take place at Sotheby’s in London and has a combined total estimate of $13,855,000-20,155,000 in sales.
The very best of fine and decorative arts from India and the Islamic World spanning 1500 years will include a North Indian diamond-set and enameled gold parade necklace (khanti), circa 1850-1875, estimated at $100,770-152,000.
