Sotheby’s has unveiled what is considered a “perfect” 100-carat emerald cut diamond, which will be showcased in Dubai on March 16-18 and in Doha on April 14-15, before being sold as part of the Magnificent Jewels event auction in New York on April 21.
The D colour, internally flawless clarity, Type IIa stone is estimated to sell for up to $25 million, and is among only five of its kind to ever be sold at auction across the globe.
At this impressive scale, diamonds of this exceptional quality are incredibly rare, and are considered ‘perfect’.
What makes this particular diamond stand out from its sisters is its beautiful shape and the fact that it is the largest perfect diamond with an emerald cut ever to be offered at auction.
