Seven Omani artists will soon visit seven international cities as part of the Omani flying art exhibition, Painting the Sky, which was launched on Tuesday evening.

Painting the Sky is an initiative by the Omani Society for Fine Arts that brought together 43 Omani artists to share their art globally. Most of the artists helped paint an aeroplane, and Oman Air flights will screen their artwork on its in-flight entertainment systems. Seven of the artists were also chosen to visit cities in Europe and Asia to promote Omani art and culture.

Beauty of Oman
“I’m going to spread Omani heritage outside the country with my brush and show the beauty of Oman. I’m going to have fun and enjoy my time and use each minute there to develop myself,” said Raya Al Manji, who will be flying to Milan.

Al Manji said it was a “dream come true” to be selected for the Painting the Sky initiative because it would add to her experience and knowledge as an artist as well as give her a chance to tell the Italians about Oman. While she heads to Milan, other artists will be going to London, Frankfurt, Paris, Zurich, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.
