The NYPD will be adding extra protection around mosques and other Muslim sites in the coming weeks as the Ramadan holiday approaches, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said Wednesday.
During a special event at 1 Police Plaza, Bratton told hundreds of Imams and religious leaders that there were no known threats toward the Muslim community, though hate crimes against Muslims have spiked.
