The delicate notes of Yousef Shawki’s “Omaniya Symphonica Suite” resonated beautifully around the Royal Opera House of Muscat’s new House of Musical Arts, inaugurated with a gala concert Tuesday night. Performed by the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra alongside the Opera Choir Group and the Military Choir of the Royal Guard of Oman, the concert’s first half presented traditional Omani compositions, played with crisp skill under the baton of the Italian conductor Giuseppe Finzi.
