MenaITech: HR Solutions in the Middle East

By: Sherief Ahmed

HR for large companies can be a tedious task, but with the right program, it sure can look much more manageable.  Located in Jordan, MenaITech, a company founded in 2003, by a group of HR and IT professionals, specializes in building, deploying software solutions and human resource applications.  The company’s aim is to develop Human Capital Information Systems (HCIS) to public and private organizations in the Middle East region.  They’ve found a lot of success, simply by focusing in on the Middle Eastern region.

Moving companies in the Middle East from the archaic nature of paper records to electronic systems is a difficult and a major move.  In recognizing the needs of these organizations the first one to implement easy-to-use-customizable-systems would surely have a great success and become a leader in the industry, if done so correctly.  MenaITech’s HCIS aims to address the latest statutory and legislative requirements to help organizations implement best practices in HR functions including: recruitment and selection, training and development, appraisal, succession planning, and much more.

MenaITech has several products that combine the entire suite of HCIS, but the flagship product is MenaHR, where some features contain: comprehensive personnel file, leave and vacation management, organization structure and charts, training and development management, competition plans, job rotations, etc.

Another major product is MenaPay which is a web-based payroll and personnel system designed to meet the needs of medium and large size organizations operating in the MENA region, supporting multi-language, multi-currency and multi-branch needs.  Other products are MenaExplorer, MenaME, MenaOSS, Mena360, and MenaSMS.

Currently MenaITech is serving all types of industries ranging from: finance to hospitality to NGO’s.  Their software is currently being used in Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, UAE, and Yemen.  It is safe to say they have a wide grasp on the market in the region.  This is an excellent example of a successful company in the Middle East.  They found a gap in the market for a product that makes businesses successful and did it all with Middle Eastern talent for the Middle Eastern market.
