All hands on deck at Emirati Skills Competition

The competition was fierce as participants focused on the tasks before them, which included programming robots, graphic designing, aircraft maintenance and mechanical engineering.

The Emirates Skills National Competition 2014 saw almost 600 talented young Emiratis put their technical skills to the test under the watchful eye of the judges.

“I’m very happy to have won, because it was a very difficult competition,” said Reem Mansouri, who took first prize in the graphic design category. “We were working within a two-day time frame so there was pressure to contend with.

“We gained a lot of good experience and it’s great to meet a lot of different people from different places and in different fields of expertise.”
