A coworking space for Egypt’s online security professionals is set to launch in August, and is aiming to make the Arabic-speaking digital community more secure.
Ahmed Mohamed and his two cofounders, all researchers in information security and digital protection, are planning to launch Hackzone in Cairo’s Hadayek El Kobba suburb, as a coworking space for people interested in the sector and to provide information in Arabic on how to be secure online.
This space will consist of six areas.
A technical lab will allow security researchers to train. The study area will include conference rooms for technical lectures, as well as a library, an open space for reflection and creativity, a production room where software and programs can be developed, and an exhibition area for software and technology products, events and pitching.
Hackzone will initially make money from leasing work spaces to SMEs to create an integrated community of entrepreneurs and experts interested in digital protection and information security.
