Dubai-based retailers Marka announced an agreement with UEFA, the European football authority, to open the world’s first UEFA Champions League Experience shops in the UAE.
The first concept store and fast-casual dining destination will open in Yas Mall on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi in May with plans confirmed for expansion across the Middle East, the company said in a statement.
Khaled Almheiri, vice-chairman of Marka, said: “The UEFA Champions League Experience will be the ideal destination for all football fans to come and enjoy the best of European football and their favorite teams — under one roof. Marka is delighted to be partnering with UEFA to bring the UEFA Champions League Experience first to the UAE and then to the wider region.”
Inspired by the atmosphere, energy and passion of UEFA Champions League football, the 17,000 square foot destination retail concept will feature combined retail and restaurant offerings.
