Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened a new high tech training centre for taxi drivers, authorities confirmed on Sunday.
The Drivers Qualifying Center at Rawiyya was opened by HE Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of the board and executive director of the RTA, and is reportedly the first smart training centre dedicated to training taxi drivers.
The centre will be supervised by Drivers Affairs Department and aims to improve taxi driving standards in the emirate.
The facility is fitted with smart screens, audio-visual technologies, simulators for measuring and assessing a driver’s performance and a smart map base to enhance drivers’ literacy about tourist destinations and residential communities in the emirate.
