The #MyDubai is a social media campaign created by his HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, where residents are encouraged to share pictures of the culture and soul of Dubai.

The Reel Dubai short film competition will build on the millions of stories told in the pictures to create a film reflecting the emirate’s rich culture and ambiance.

Managing director of DIFF, Shivani Pandya, said the competition is a way to highlight and encourage filmmaking talent in the region.

“Nurturing local talent is the gateway to establishing a strong film culture in the region and one of DIFF’s central mandates. ‘The Reel Dubai Contest’ allows aspiring filmmakers to showcase their creativity and skill against the backdrop of one of the world’s most diverse and stunning cities,” said Pandya.
