Dubai Duty Free, through its Foundation, has donated Dhs2 million to support Dubai Autism Center’s “Build A Difference Campaign”, which aims to build a brand new 91,000 square metre teaching and care facility in Garhoud.
“As part of the company’s continued corporate social responsibility, we believed that it is our role to support the communities from which we operate. We have a long association with Dubai Autism Center and are proud of the efforts they make in providing children and their families with support and guidance,” commented Colm McLoughlin, Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman.
The construction of Dubai Autism Center in Garhoud will be completed in 2015. The new premises can accommodate 200 students and will include a fully equipped gymnasium, swimming pool and a library.
Founded in 2001, Dubai Autism Center is the largest, most innovative and comprehensive non-profit organisation in the UAE serving children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and relies on grants, donations and fundraising to operate its program which involves early assessment and diagnosis of autism. Its classes include speech therapy, art and music, with the aim of integrating children with society.
