Dubai chefs to stage charity event for breast cancer

Some of Dubai’s top international chefs have joined forces to stage a charity event in aid of breast cancer, part of a new series of fundraising initiatives.

Part of the ‘NOURISH’ – Chef’s United’ philanthropic initiative, The Chef’s United Ball will be held in the Palm Ballroom at the Fairmont Hotel on the Palm, Dubai, October 30, 2014.

The event is spearheaded by the chairman of Nourish, executive chef Robbie Stokes, whose wife Claire was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011.

“I wanted to do something that linked my passion for cooking with raising not only funding for my wife’s ongoing cancer treatment, but that helped to raise awareness of this disease for each and every woman,” said Stokes, who previously worked as Burj Al Arab’s Chef de Cuisine and is now Executive Chef at Al Badia Golf Club by Intercontinental.
