Dubai-based Syrian designer Rami Al Ali has revealed his Spring/Summer couture collection at the Paris Couture Fashion Week.
Inspired by Japanese culture and art, Al Ali’s collection focuses on several manipulations of the iconic Japanese garment: the kimono.
The 15-piece couture collection comprises of floor length gowns made from single sheets of fabric with no darts or cuts. The designer used modern folding techniques inspired by origami, the Japanese paper art.
Known for his unique embellishment, Al Ali used peony flowers and pearls to further highlight the organic theme of his collection.
