U.S. photojournalist Randy Hope Goodman has come back to Iran to take photos of Iranian citizens and their daily lives to complete her collection of photos on Iran taken over 30 years ago.
Goodman was invited to speak at a session arranged on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 13th Iranian Biennial of Photography underway at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, the Persian service of MNA reported on Friday.
In her short speech, Goodman said that she had made three trips to Iran at different times. Her first journey to Iran was during the year 1979 when an Iranian student group seized the U.S. embassy in Tehran during the post-revolution period.
She visited Iran three more times in 1980 to 1983. She toured the Iran-Iraq war zone and had the exclusive opportunity to photograph the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, in her previous visits.
Her moving photographs focus on soldiers and civilians, people whose lives were highly affected during the Islamic Revolution and Iran-Iraq war.
