The DNA Centre for Integrative Medicine & Wellness in Abu Dhabi has revealed DNA testing that can reverse the signs of aging and identify individuals who are subject to diabetes and heart disease.
The centre obtains the results by analysing a client’s DNA and using genetic biomarkers.
Founder and CEO of the firm, Dr Nasim Ashraf, said the customised DNA testing can “identify if a person has a genetic predisposition to developing chronic, lifestyle-related diseases such as ‘diabesity’ (patients who develop diabetes as a result of being obese) and we can help manage this and reduce the risk of future illnesses through a personalised programme specific to an individual’s DNA.”
According to the doctor, one in three children in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are overweight or obese.
