Poetry from 19 countries to wow Delhi

Delhi’s finding reason enough to rhyme lately. After the Delhi Poetry Festival and the Jaipur Literature Fest, a new festival is making it ‘verse’ for the city.

The Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Poetry Festival, organised by Sahitya Kala Akademi and the Ministry of External Affairs, has invited over 50 poets from 19 countries. The idea behind this event is to connect these countries through this platform.

“The Indian Ocean Rim constitutes not merely a geographical area, but a cultural one too. These countries got connected long ago through sea routes and exchanged ideas, concepts and forms of art. It is really important to retrieve that partly lost organic connection,” says Sreenivasarao, Secretary, Sahitya Akademi.
