Dubai Design Week: Fragments of ‘Now’ counts back from present to seconds into the past

Designed by Yohei Iwaki, Fragments of ‘Now’ – Reflections of the Immediate Past installs a new kind of mirror that reflects the moment of ‘now’.  A series of mirrors simultaneously reflect glimpses of passing  time, counting back from ‘now,’ to seconds into the past. The installation is on site at Dubai Design District during Dubai Design Week that ends on 31 October.

“Just as we are unconscious of our own body temperatures or breathing, as human beings we tend to forget how the current moment is part of a constant flow of time. We assume ‘now’ is as an unquestionable premise,” Iwaki said.
