Mobile photo exhibit to raise funds for photography NGO

Maraya Art Centre will host a new fund-raising roadshow from August 13-31 dubbed MobipixUAE which is part of a series of mobile phone photography exhibitions across the UAE.

MobipixUAE is a small group of mobile photographers from different nationalities that originated in the Dubai in 2013. According to their website they came together in an Instagram account, @mobipix.uae, to promote mobile photography and showcase talents whether they are emerging, enthusiasts or professionals.

Eight of MobipixUAE members will exhibit their work along with some of the work of 100cameras’ young photographers from South Sudan, Cuba and India.

The roadshow aims to raise funds for 100Cameras, a registered NGO based in New York since 2009. The 100cameras group empowers children in different countries, by allowing them to create tangible change in their communities by teaching them to capture their lives through photography.
