2014 L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science Awards

Farah Ouechtati, a Tunisian postdoctoral researcher in biotechnology, genetics, and molecular biology at both the Institut Pasteur and Hédi Raïs Institute of Ophthalmology in Tunisia, received the fellowship of the 2014 L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science Awards, together with fourteen others.

The award ceremony was held at La Sorbonne University in Paris, where Ouechtati was honored for contributing innovative solutions in science. Other regional recipients included Alia Shatanawi (Jordan) and Adila Elobeid (Sudan). The ceremony was presided by Professor Günter Blobel, a Nobel Prize recipient in Medicine, and hosted by UNESCO’s General Director, Irina Bokova, and L’Oréal’s CEO and Chairman, Jean-Paul Agon.
