Shaikh Hamdan's #MyDubai video is like no other

A video with a striking aerial view of Dubai is quickly climbing the popularity charts on social media app Instagram.

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, uploaded the video of the city through his Instagram account @faz3.

The 15-second video clip is captioned: “Good morning to all, this is #mydubai”. The short clip starts with a view of the Burj Khalifa and Shaikh Zayed Road framed by the window of a low-flying aircraft. The camera then pans across Jumeirah Islands and neighbouring properties.

Within six hours, the video received more than 53,000 likes and nearly 1,500 comments.

Some Instagram users tried to spot their homes in the video, while others praised the rapid development of the country under the visionary guidance of its leaders.

An Instagram user with the username @sophieestates, who is based in California, US, wrote in reply: “What brilliant and incredible infrastructure!”
