The full installation programme for Dubai Design Week (DXBDW) was announced today (Wednesday) at the DXBDW press conference at Dubai Design District (d3), featuring high-impact sculptural works as well as architectural and experiential creations.
The 12 site-specific works have been created by a selection of international and local designers, artists and architects and will be positioned in strategic locations for the duration of the event.
“d3, as a destination dedicated to design, is committed to nurturing the growth of emerging local talent whilst providing a global platform for established international artists,” said Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, COO of d3.
“We looked for proposals that presented bold ideas, questioned conventions and responded to the issues faced by global society today,” explained Cyril Zammit, director of design at Art Dubai Group.
“But most importantly,” he continued, “we chose the works on the basis of context; each of these pieces have been selected for its sense of belonging to the city- they all celebrate the creative dynamism and diversity of Dubai in unique ways”.
